How can gender expression for the Black body be used as a source of liberation? How can Black womxn's contemporary knowledge production subvert the legacies of terror and slavery? This is about the power of cultural production that produces a meaning of liberation. This is the time to question the logics of visibility. They would send volunteers to SF’s Department of Public Health to get certified to become an HIV Tester and Counselor. Volunteers would be working with Asian & Pacific Islander Men who seek other men, as well as transgender people. The place is ADA Accessible! Food and snacks will be provided!-Volunteers for SF Community Health Center The San Francisco Community Health Center (formerly known as API Wellness) is looking for new volunteers to do HIV Counseling and testing. Queer and Trans Pacific Islander students and South Asian students are especially encouraged to attend! Upon acceptance, interns will be sent introductory communication from the QARC Board detailing the Decal course number so that interns can officially enroll via CalCentral and along further instructions about the program.The first Queer/Trans Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Support Circle of Spring 2018! It will be in Walker's Corner in the Multicultural Community Center (MCC) in the ASUC Building, on Mafrom 5:30pm to 6:30pm! Applications from BIPOC, disabled, trans femme, and low-income members of our community are strongly encouraged. We'll also have virtual socials over the course of the year so that everyone in the program and on the board can get to know each other!Īpplications will be accepted on a rolling basis. All interns will also have the chance to work on their own individual projects, and QARC Board will help directly with this process as well. Interns will receive 2 upper division units for their involvement in the program. This semester, we have the changed the internship program to be a Decal class on Wednesdays from 6pm to 8pm starting on February 10. Weekly in-class meetings with all the interns are aimed at developing leadership and programming skills, and outside of those meetings, interns will meet and work directly with the Board Member they are partnered with on various projects and programming. The intern program is year-long and will give interns a unique view of how QARC and other QT orgs operate. We're are reopening applications for interns for the 2021 year! The aims of the intern program are to:ġ) Develop QARC interns as QT leaders who can support and serve the LGBTQ+ community on campus and beyond.Ģ) Train QARC interns in the inner workings of QARC and queer advocacy and programming on campus.ģ) Help each intern develop and execute a unique project that will give back to the trans and queer community. QARC has a long history of advocating for LGBTQ+ rights both on and off campus, providing various resources to marginalized students, and acting as the umbrella body for more than 15 queer/trans QT student organizations currently on-campus.
