Newer versions of the webplayer are normally compatible with games built using older versions, but maybe the difference in this case is too great.įirstly, have you tried contacting the publisher ( )? If the game genuinely requires Unity 2.x player, and that is no longer available, it seems very strange that they wouldn't have noticed since presumeably that would have precluded them from gaining any new users in the last several years! Also, as a paying customer, you have some consumer rights to access the game! This is from the site:Īre You Experiencing a Loading Issue with Your $$anonymous$$aze/Hamlet? Updated 15:21:55 $$anonymous$$azin’ Hamsters requires that your browser download the Unity 3D plugin. Unity 2.x is 7 years old - an eternity in software terms and, as you've found out is no longer available to download from any official sources. Hi, generally speaking, Unity Answers is intended for developers, but as you've gone to the trouble to find and register here it seems rude not to try to help you (and as the parent of young children myself, I feel your pain!). Is there any hope of getting this moldy game to play? Thanks for your help. We had an older version from way back on flash drive but it won't install. We also use Chrome (we can't even find Unity for this) and FIrefox (we can't even get this installed again it just snaps closed on us) We have looked and you don't archive a version in the 2.x versions, only 3.x. When we try, we get version 4x now but now she can't play Mazing Hamsters - horrors! The game gives us a screen saying it was made using Unity Player 2.x and so Too Bad So Sad, the current version won't run the game (the game is too old I guess it's saying) Webkinz will never fix this though many of her friends still have access to it on their comps. It's worked fine until we had to reinstall our browsers after a crash, and so the game tells us we have to go get Unity Player again. There is a game embedded within the site that we've paid to access called Mazing Hamsters that uses Unity Player - a badly made 3-d vomit game that she loves like crazy. I feel stupid asking this since it's not a technical question, but my 8 year old is in tears and I don't know where else to ask this.
